Thresholding
You can select either image data segmentation by high and low treshold of density value, the predefined threshold value or the user-predefined threshold density value setting.

Region Growing
This segmentation method starts the expansion of the region from the user selected point. The region automatically expands until the edges of the object are encountered.

Manual VOI and ROI edit
Volume of Interest (VOI) can be easily edited by just draging yellow bounding lines on the MPR windows to the desired location. To simplify defining a Region of interest (ROI) you can choose from polygon, rectangle and ellipse mode but also from freehand mode for the more complex regions. Edit tools include such as insert next node, change its position and size, rotate it, delete it, insert a node between two other nodes, move all nodes.

3D active contours
MedicView 3D Graphic Station enables contour operation on axial, sagittal and coronal image, snake curve optimization, and setting of optimization option. This function can be used for custom segmentation algorithms.

Statistical shape models
MedicView 3D Graphic Station supports complex statistical shape models.
