Volume Rendering tools
To help you achieve the optimal image,
MedicView also provides you with a palette of Volume Rendering
tools. You will find tools for interactive rotation, sliding
and zooming, 2-step of Level of detail, Thick slab rendering,
Maximum intensity projection, Volume cropping, interactive
multiple classification, interactive multiple color rendering,
opacity preset, shaded and textured volume rendering based
on phong shading model, and the last but not least the support
for stereo display and TerraRecon ™ VolumePro graphic
card.
Interactive Shading in Volume rendering
MedicView uses a Phong shading model for controlling the
appearance of the volume. It is controlled by four parametres
(Ambient, Diffuse, Specular and Specular Power), each
manipulating an image in a different way. From uniformly
adjusting its brightness, changing the focus level of
reflection, to modifying of how smooth you wish the appearance
to be.
Support for perspective projections and clipping planes
You can choose fom numerous image viewing
modes and perspectives, from standard controls enabling
you to pan, zoom and rotate a slicer plane, to complex
reslicing capabilities offering you functions like rotating
the plane’s center around an axis, translating the
entire active plane or only its edges, and spinning the
plane at its center.
IsoSurface Rendering
The IsoSurface in general draws a 3-D surface within a
volumetric data field, corresponding to points with a
specific intensity value. MedicView enables you to visualize
multiple data values in a 3D field creating a clear view
of the several desired tissues. You can also change the
color and opacity of the iso-surface to your liking.
Stereo Support
MedicView supports Interlaced and Red-Blue modes and technology
for CrystalEye viewing. The last mode requires also the
use of special hardware equipment like Crystal Eye 3D
glasses to make up professional stereo effect visualization.
